Astyfer is an iron supplement used for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anaemia caused by poor nutrition, increased iron requirements, or recovery from illness. It helps restore healthy iron levels, supports red blood cell formation, and reduces symptoms such as fatigue and weakness. Astyfer is especially beneficial for children, adolescents, adults, pregnant women, and women of reproductive age. Not suitable for individuals with iron overload conditions such as hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis.

Indication of Astyfer Blood Tonic:

Astyfer blood tonic is indicated for the treatment and prevention of a wide range of iron deficiency anaemia conditions, particularly those arising from inadequate nutritional intake, or periods when the body’s demand for iron is significantly increased. It is especially beneficial in cases of anaemia, caused by poor dietary iron consumption, prolonged illness, or during recovery, and convalescence when the body requires additional nutrients to restore normal blood levels. Iron deficiency anaemia is also frequently observed in specific age groups, such as late childhood and early adolescence, when rapid growth increases iron requirements, as well as in older adults, who may have reduced dietary intake or impaired absorption.

In women, Astyfer blood tonic plays an important role in managing anaemia, from menarche through menopause. During these stages, iron loss through menstruation and increased physiological demands, can predispose women to iron deficiency. The product is also indicated in pregnancy, where iron requirements are substantially higher to support fetal development and maternal blood volume. Both macrocytic and microcytic forms of anaemia associated with pregnancy can be effectively managed with appropriate iron supplementation under medical guidance.

Iron deficiency may manifest through a variety of symptoms that can affect overall wellbeing and daily functioning. Common signs include persistent fatigue, general weakness, and heart palpitations. Patients may also experience changes in the mouth and tongue, such as a smooth, sore, or inflamed tongue, as well as painful cracks at the corners of the mouth known as angular stomatitis. Difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia) may occur in more severe cases. In addition, iron deficiency can lead to gastrointestinal disturbances and enteropathy, further complicating nutrient absorption and contributing to the progression of anaemia.

Contraindications

Astyfer blood tonic should not be administered to individuals with iron overload disorders, such as hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis. In these conditions, iron therapy is contraindicated, as excess iron can accumulate in tissues and cause serious organ damage.
